Ke$ha sold clothes so she could eat before becoming a pop star, she has revealed.

The US singer scored the longest-running number one debut by a female for 33 years last week, with ‘Tik Tok’.

But she insists her new-found fame has not gone to her head and insists she is eager to avoid spending “gross” amounts of money.

“I can’t stand pretentious people. I think growing up without money has taught me not to take myself seriously.

“I’m the same person I when I was selling clothes to buy a taco for dinner, I just have a few extra bucks,” she explained.

‘Tik Tok’ has been at the summit of the American chart for eight weeks. Her debut album, ‘Animal’, was released earlier this month in the UK.
